Rudy Fernandez said in an interview with NBA FanHouse that Spanish coach Sergio Scariolo recently called him. Fernandez told him his health is doing well and he’s committed to play in the World Championships, Aug. 28-Sept. 12 in Turkey.

Joel Przybilla will undergo surgery on his right patella tendon in the next few days. Przybilla re-ruptured his right patella tendon Saturday after slipping in the shower at his home. He returned to Portland today to undergo an MRI, which revealed the rupture.
